DUTCH Hormone Testing in Vaughan & Richmond Hill

If you have been told your bloodwork is "normal" but you still feel exhausted, anxious, unable to lose weight, or completely unlike yourself — your hormones may still be the answer. Standard blood panels only tell part of the story. DUTCH testing tells the rest.

What Is The Dutch Test?

DUTCH stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones.

It is one of the most advanced hormonal panels available, measuring not just your hormone levels but how your body is processing and metabolizing those hormones — information that a standard blood test simply cannot provide.

The DUTCH test measures:

  • Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone — and their metabolites

  • Cortisol and cortisone patterns throughout the day (your stress hormone rhythm)

  • DHEA and its breakdown products

  • Melatonin (relevant to sleep and cellular health)

  • Key organic acids related to B vitamin status, neurotransmitter metabolism, and oxidative stress

For women in perimenopause and menopause, this level of detail can reveal why symptoms persist even when standard hormone levels appear "normal."

Why Hormone Metabolites Matter

Here is something most standard tests miss: it is not just how much estrogen you produce that matters — it is how your body breaks estrogen down. Some estrogen metabolites are protective. Others, if they accumulate, carry risk. The DUTCH test shows exactly which pathways are dominant in your body, allowing for targeted nutritional and lifestyle support to shift toward healthier metabolism.

This is the kind of nuanced, personalized information that changes treatment. It is the difference between guessing and knowing.

What the DUTCH Test Can Help Uncover

  • Why you feel fatigued despite "normal" thyroid and iron levels

  • The root cause of PMS, irregular cycles, or heavy bleeding in perimenopause

  • Whether your cortisol pattern is contributing to weight gain, poor sleep, or anxiety

  • How your body is processing estrogen — important for long-term breast and cardiovascular health

  • Whether low androgens are contributing to low energy, low libido, or muscle loss

How It Works

The DUTCH test is a simple urine collection done at home over the course of one day. You receive a kit, collect your samples at specified times, and return the kit by mail. No clinic visit required for the collection itself.

Once results are in, we meet for a full interpretation appointment. I walk you through every marker in plain language — what it means, why it matters for your specific symptoms, and exactly what we are going to do about it.

From there, your DUTCH results become the foundation of your personalized treatment plan, whether that includes nutritional therapy, targeted supplementation, Metabolic Balance coaching, or further testing.
